Armenian Genocide Church Attendance & Communion – 2024

Dear Families,
Aginian Armenian School students will be taking part in a series of events to commemorate the 109th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide of 1915.
Tuesday 23rd April: 7:00pm
The Armenian Community of Melbourne are hosting the Melbourne Armenian Genocide Commemoration Evening at Rowville Performing Arts Centre, featuring keynote guest speaker Dr Khatchig Mouradian (lecturer of Middle Eastern, South Asian & African studies at Columbia University NY). As part of this commemoration evening, students in Grade 4 and up are to attend this evening in full school uniform.
Please note that students in Grade 4 and up are asked to arrive from 6pm for a rehearsal.
Saturday 27th April: 4:30pm-5:30pm
Our students at Aginian Armenian School will be commemorating the anniversary of the Armenian Genocide of 1915 by way of a small ceremony and presentations in the Church Hall. Parents are welcome to attend from 4:30pm onwards, and school will conclude at the normal time of 5:30pm.
There will also be a Lahmajun Meal Deal during recess for our students on this day – please send money with your child if they wish to partake.

Sunday 28th April: 11:30am
Our students at Aginian Armenian School will be attending Church and taking Holy Communion at Mass on Sunday 28th April to commemorate the Armenian Genocide of 1915. Students are required to meet in the Church Hall at 11:30am in full school uniform.
